Oh hey there!

The government knows me as Davina McGill...

...but you can call me Vina.

Welcome. I guess you're here to know a little bit about me and this site, so the short version: I'm the writer behind Love&Society, a faith-based lifestyle blog.

Alright now pull up a chair for the long version.

I'm a 25-year-old PK, military brat, born in Arkansas, currently residing in South Florida. I have lived more places than I can count, I prefer tea over coffee, and I'm usually buried somewhere in a book. In between conception and now, I've done a little living, graduated college, adopted two pups I'm obsessed with and found a man named Jesus who thinks I'm to die for, so I decided to devote my life to Him.

But that decision didn't come naturally, and it came after years of mistake after mistake... after mistake, before I came crawling back to Christ. And it's the love and redemption that I have experience that has caused me to dedicate my life to telling others about Him.

I live, breathe and die by the Great Commandment:

36 “Teacher, which command in the law is the greatest?”
37 He said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.
38 This is the greatest and most important command.
39 The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.
— Matthew 22:36-39 (ESV)
So I'm here to share a little love.  Love God first, love you second.

I believe the entire Bible is dope, but if I had to summarize my life's commission (not to be confused with the Great Commission) and the purpose of this blog, it would be found here:

I will sing of the LORD’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.
— Psalm 89:1 (NIV)

Meaning: In between my random musings, I am going to be talking about Jesus.

A lot.

But disclaimer: (because I always feel like this is needed for topics like this), I am not an authoritative figure on Christianity. I highly advise that you get connected to a Bible-teaching church for the answers that I can't provide or for the topics I straight-up get wrong. I aspire to remain teachable, so here no topic is taboo, no question is off limits. I'm just a girl who found a lot of grace wrapped in unconditional love and I'm here to share that journey with you.

I don't have all the answers. Not even close.

But I know someone who does and my purpose is to point you in His direction.

Question? Comment? Concern? Hop over to my contact page and tell me all it about.

As always, with love.
