Oh, Hey Florida
Chileeee. It's been so long since I've been on here that I forgot how to write. Alright, I'm exaggerating... but still it's been a minute, so here's the rundown.
Mike and I left Maryland at 11:30am on Wednesday and arrived in Port St. Lucie at 6:00am.
Yes. We drove straight for 18 and a half hours.
No. I don't know how a 14 hour trip turned into an 18 hour trip. Then to add a cherry on top of an already perfect move... we lost the truck keys. However nonetheless, we made it here safely and in one piece. Lesson learned: hire movers.
So it's been an official two weeks since Mike and I have been out here in Florida and it's amazing! We seriously came down at the perfect time because the weather is calming down and getting into a comfortable.. 85 degrees. HA! Our hosts have a pretty dope pool, so we find ways to beat the heat.
It rains everyday, no lie, but it's something that I'm used to from living here before. It'll be sunny at 2:00, and by 2:15, a hurricane, tropical depression and potential earthquake have passed by. Again, being super extra right now, but it will be a serious thunderstorm, lighting, winds and all. I was in Walmart once when the rain started and the lights went out. I'm like oh, it's time to go, the residents kept shopping like nothing happened. Lesson learned: always keep an umbrella in the car or in my purse.
The beaches are nice, although I found out one of the beaches that I've been going to has crabs, sharks and bobcats... ask me if I'm going back. Now that, is no exaggeration. The couple of times I went, I wondered why it was so empty. Now I know why. Before learning this information however, I did make it out there for a gorgeous sunset. Lesson learned: find a way to do this everyday, while eliminating the risk of encountering wildlife.
Now that we're a little more settled and have gotten into a comfortable groove, more updates about Florida will soon come. Also did you notice the subtle changes to Love & Society? No? Click around and check it out. I promise I haven't been just resting on my laurel this entire time. ;-)
